Weedsday Playlist: Stone Road Founder Lex Corwin Shares 5 Songs For Your Next Smoke Sesh
Lex Corwin is the founder and CEO of Stone Road, a queer-led, family-run brand committed to harvesting and creating accessible, affordable cannabis products without sacrificing style. Created with the conviction that cannabis is one of the planet’s great natural gifts to humans, Stone Road believes that all people should have access to the best of the plant. The company has been growing flowers to be one with—hand-rolling joints as a gesture of love and friendship, and bringing people together from all walks of life.
“So if you’re a human being, we’re here for you,” the team says. “We’re here for plants, too. And animals, of course.”
Who Is Lex Corwin, Founder And CEO Of Stone Road?
Raised in New York City, Corwin initially moved west for college and began working as the co-manager of a boutique, family-owned medical cannabis cooperative in Portland, Oregon. He cut his teeth in the legal cannabis space with roles in cultivation, manufacturing, and distribution while working towards his degree. Corwin has come a long way since those early days in Portland and has propelled Stone Road, which he founded in 2016 at age 23, to becoming one of the fastest growing cannabis companies in the California, New Mexico, Massachusetts, and Michigan markets.
Today, Stone Road is available in over 400 retail outlets across five states with New York coming next, and additional expansions in the works. When he’s not running the brand from Stone Road’s Venice office, Corwin is tending to the company’s 57-acre, off-grid biodynamic family farm in Nevada City, California.
Lex Corwin's Weedsday Playlist For Maximum Daily Productivity
For his Weedsday Playlist, Lex Corwin shared his essential tracks for maximizing daily productivity. “These are some of the many songs I love to get work done to,” he says. “I listen to music 24/7 and am always inspired by new sounds and artists. Whether doing emails in the office or doing plant care at the farm. These are the songs that keep me going!”
Kendrick Lamar - "Wesley's Theory"
The first song on To Pimp A Butterfly - my favorite Kendrick album - is a cacophony of sound and styles. It's energizing, it's exuberant, it's alive. Plus, the entire album is amazing and this is a great appetizer. Plus, featuring features by George Clinton and Thundercat on bass, you really can't go wrong.

Jordan Ward - "Famjam4000"
This is a newer artist that popped up on my Spotify. The song is catchy, bubbly, and cheerful. It's a great pick-me-up whenever I feel stressed. It's just a light, classic feel-good song.

James Blake - "Asking to Break"
James Blake is my all-time most-listened-to artist. His new album wasn't my favorite, but there were some standout tracks. "Asking to Break" is one of them. This floating, hypnotic jam both calms and pumps me up. His angelic voice coupled with superb production make this track great for long drives, an after-work sesh, or before surfing.

*Editor's Note: Did you know? Christopher Peak of Pipeline chose James Blake and Bon Iver's "I Need A Forest Fire" for his Weedsday Playlist. Check out the full list here.
Kanye West And Ty Dolla Sign - "Paid"
I know Kanye is a controversial figure, but I did really enjoy his latest album. This song "Paid" - the main hook "I'm just here to get paid" is very relatable working in cannabis as a brand! This high-energy song is super catchy and sometimes you gotta let people know - I'm just here to be paid!!!

Check out the full list here. Designer Alex Cochran of Wondermore chose Kanye West's "Get 'Em High" for his. Check it out here.
Armando Young - "Loved Ones"
This song is super special. Combining three different musical styles, this track is one of the first from an NY-based musician named Armando Young. It's very inspiring and beautiful.
