The Flowery Talks 4/20 Festivities in New York and Florida
With five sleek storefronts across SoHo, Brooklyn, Queens, the Upper West Side, and Staten Island, The Flowery has quickly become the largest retail presence in New York’s adult-use cannabis market. Add 11 Florida locations and a Miami-based headquarters, and you’ve got one of the most dynamic, bicoastal players in the game.

So how does a brand of this scale celebrate the highest holiday of the year?

Let us put you on.

In New York, The Flowery is throwing its own Flowery Fest at the Staten Island location, featuring performances from major names in hip hop. Down in Miami, they’re teaming up with III Joints and Insomniac for a full-on party at Factory Town. And all month long, their 420 Exhale campaign brings exclusive deals to Florida patients.

To get a closer look at how it’s all coming together, Honeysuckle caught up with Katie Seccombe, Social Media Manager at The Flowery.

Katie Seccombe

What are you most excited about with 4/20 coming up?

“To celebrate the plant! Every day kinda feels like 4/20 when you live this life—but it’s nice to have one day where everyone collectively taps in. It’s a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come and how much work we still have to do to break old stigmas and keep pushing the culture forward.

I’m just excited to celebrate with the community, feel the love, and smoke an unreasonable amount of zaaaaa. Plus… I’ll take any excuse to sesh with the homies.”

It seems like New York is the spot to be this year. How do you feel the culture has evolved in the city?

“New York’s a fire spot to spend 4/20. Since The Flowery opened here, I’ve watched the culture grow right alongside us—and the community is so tapped in. There’s this real hunger for culture-forward, community-driven stuff, not just product drops.

Flowery Fest in NYC this year is the perfect example. People want vibes, they want connection. It’s been so cool to watch the scene in New York evolve every year.”

What’s The Flowery’s mission in your own words?

“To create space—for the stoners, for the culture, and for connection. The Flowery New York is here to bring people together through the shared experience of cannabis.”

What does the plant mean to you personally?

“Weed’s done a lot for me. It’s helped me feel more at home in my mind and body. It’s brought joy, connection, and some of the best people I’ve ever met (I actually met my best friend through weed, which feels very on-brand).

It’s helped me find community in ways I never expected—spaces where I can just be myself and feel understood.

It also enhances my creativity… duh. As a creative on The Flowery team, some of my favorite ideas have started with a joint and turned into something way cooler than I planned. Weed helps me connect the dots—and sometimes make new ones. Za 4 lyfe.”

Anything else we should be looking forward to?

“More stores, more connection, more good times. We’re just getting started. Every new space is another chance to build community, throw a party, and keep raising the bar for what cannabis culture can look like in New York.”
