It’s National CBD Day August 8th and Honeysuckle will be taking over Times Square to celebrate with our Special Plant Partners! From 5-9PM, come honor the plant on the iconic NASDAQ billboard and other sites in a salute to women and Indigenous leaders in cannabis and hemp, as well as organic and regenerative agriculture. Our partners Legacy 420, Franny's Farmacy, Core Roots, and My Bud Vase are all history-makers in the space and proponents of planetary wellness. And in a world wracked by climate change, this is the perfect time to go green for everyone's health.
In these days of plentiful, sometimes legal - THC and Delta-8 - it's easy to get sidetracked away from what the plant really offers: medicine.
According to Project CBD; "CBD is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis, a plant with a rich history as a medicine going back thousands of years. Today the therapeutic properties of CBD are being tested and confirmed by scientists and doctors around the world. A safe, non-addictive substance, CBD is one of more than a hundred “phytocannabinoids,” which are unique to cannabis and endow the plant with its robust therapeutic profile.”
CBD is known to help with autoimmune diseases, epilepsy, neurological conditions, inflammation, gut and cardiovascular disorders, skin disease, and more!
Here's a closer look at our brand partners on this very special day.
Legacy 420
The right dose really matters. And when the right dose really matters, vertical integration can be a great system for producing excellent CBD. Legacy 420, a plant-touching retailer on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory in Ontario, Canada, produces, manufactures and tests everything in house. From their EYE-watering 55.87 percent THC full-melt hash to their CBD oils, you know they know exactly what you're getting. And if that's not good enough, their independent lab reports are available on their website.
Legacy 420 is one of the brands responsible for the first international Indigenous cannabis collaboration to take place in Times Square history (in case you haven't heard about our last all-women foray into Midtown). Owned by people from the First Nations and with all proceeds from their products going to benefit the Indigenous community, this is a company you know will make a difference every time. Franny's Farmacy
Franny “Pharma to Farm” Tacy started her CBD company after frustration with the traditional pharmacuetical industry she worked in. Franny's Farmacy keeps the roots in the name, Farm. Vertically integrated, Franny is in charge of your CBD dose from dirt to delivery.
They also have a unique CBD line for those people still forced to drug test for employment or benefits. With absolutely no THC, their distillate allows the medical user of CBD to pass their drop.
Tacy was one of the first female organic hemp farmers in the American South to venture into CBD cultivation, and her commitment to clean production is reflected in the Franny's Farm process. All Franny's Farm CBD is marked traceable from "seed to shell," so consumers can understand exactly what goes into their wellness products and how the plants are raised, harvested and tested. Based in North Carolina, and now with a new CBD store location in Athens, Georgia, Franny's Farm still operates as an agricultural education center as well, to inspire young planet-conscious people to learn more about caring for the earth.
Core Roots
How about a little Williamsburg via New Jersey? Vegan organic gummies. Core Roots, a great trust-worthy source for quality CBD products, makes an edible that even the most hardcore of hipster would have to admit is the best way to eat a gummies.
My Bud Vase
If you were at champs this year you may have noticed something, there aren't very many woman-owned brands in the bong space. Maybe it's something about their Freudian shape, men just can't stop playing with them. The antidote? Doreen from My Bud Vase.
"At My Bud Vase we strongly support the evolution of Cannabis in all its iterations, variations and manifestations!" Doreen said.
If you are in the city, find us tomorrow from 5pm-9pm all over Times Square! We'll be on NASDAQ (43rd Street and Broadway) and its neighboring board, plus commuter boards around Midtown. You don't want to miss it!
