Entertainment icon Snoop Dogg is bringing it back to where it all started. On May 9, the legendary artist, entrepreneur, and cultural force will officially open S.W.E.D. (Smoke Weed Every Day) Long Beach, marking his second California dispensary and his first retail location in the city that raised him.
Located at 2115 E. 10th Street in Long Beach, the opening represents more than a business launch. It is a homecoming rooted in legacy, community, and the continued evolution of cannabis culture into a global lifestyle industry.
The grand opening celebration will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live entertainment, immersive installations, local vendors, and a firsthand look at Snoop’s newest venture — a luxury retail and lounge destination designed to reflect both the history of West Coast hip-hop and the future of premium cannabis experiences.
In a rare tribute, the office of Mayor Rex Richardson will present Snoop, born Calvin Broadus Jr., with an official City Proclamation recognizing his contributions to Long Beach and his worldwide influence across entertainment, entrepreneurship, and culture.
“Long Beach made me who I am,” said Snoop Dogg. “Opening S.W.E.D. here is my way of showing love to the community that showed love to me.”
Designed as a fully immersive experience, S.W.E.D. Long Beach blends nostalgic references to early West Coast hip-hop with futuristic technology and elevated retail design. The space features Snoop’s legendary Hood Rich Lowrider, retro arcade games, dual DJ booths, hologram installations, premium product displays, and a private lounge curated around the artist’s signature aesthetic.
The opening also reflects a larger investment into the local community through job creation and expanded opportunities within the legal cannabis industry. Organizers say the project is part of Snoop’s broader mission to transform cannabis into a purpose-driven business platform while continuing to uplift the culture that inspired him.
The celebration officially begins Saturday, May 9, with the store opening at 8 AM and the ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 12 PM. Media and talent arrivals are expected around 9 AM, with activations continuing throughout the day until 10 PM.
Guests attending the event can expect food and beverage vendors, outdoor experiences, music, and appearances from friends and collaborators connected to Snoop’s decades-long impact on music, culture, and entrepreneurship.
As legal cannabis continues evolving into a mainstream business sector, S.W.E.D. Long Beach stands as another example of legacy figures shaping the next chapter of the industry — not by abandoning where they came from, but by bringing it back home.
