Puffco's Puffcon 2023 Brought Together All The Concentrates Lovers In Los Angeles
The third annual Puffcon music and cannabis festival, by globally leading devices brand Puffco, has officially come and gone for another season, and it seems like each year they keep getting better and better. With 2023 marking the company's 10th anniversary, this one was particularly special.
Puffcon: A Cannabis And Music Festival For The Community
Taking place at LA Center Studios in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, September 30th, this serves as Puffco’s highly-anticipated event where they’re able to give back to their community by giving them an unforgettable day of music, cannabis, food, good vibes, and everything in between.
What Did People See At Puffcon 2023? Master Glass Artists, Exhibitors, And Performers
The 2023 event brought in a crowd of over 6000 attendees, who enjoyed the vast offerings of 40 exhibitors and 50-plus glass artists (as well as 14 food vendors). Roller skaters, jugglers, musicians, magicians, breakdancers, and many other kinetic performers got the guests moving. Those who arrived on the earlier side caught the glass-blowing demonstration from master artists Ryan Fitt, Enuffglass, and friends; Fitt’s Recycler glass top, made in collaboration with Puffco, remains a favorite among enthusiasts.
Switching things up from last year, where attendees only needed to show proof of their purchase of a Puffco device, this year tickets were $20 in addition to owning a Puffco Peak, Proxy, or Peak Pro. Upon purchasing, guests were required to enter the Serial Number of their device. For those who wanted to bring a plus-one, tickets were $50.
Puffcon: For The Love Of Dabbing And Puffco
The beauty of Puffcon is the fact that everyone in attendance all share one common interest: love for dabbing. Upon walking inside, you immediately notice the amount of individuals holding a Puffco device, taking a dab and passing it to the person next to them. Sharing is caring in the cannabis community, and this was a safe space to fully enjoy the beauty and power in concentrates and hash.
In fact, 2013 was when Puffco CEO Roger Volodarsky saw the need for a better way to interact with concentrates through technology. Ask anyone who dabs and they’ll quickly tell you: Puffco is the future!
Who Headlined Puffcon? 2 Chainz, Action Bronson, Curren$y And More
Beyond the highly-anticipated musical performances from 2 Chainz, Action Bronson, and Curren$y, Puffcon felt like an adult playground for concentrates lovers. Comedian Frank Castillo, rapper Zombie Juice, music curator Ryan Celsius, DJ Kittamami, social media personality Jungle Cae, and many other notables were on hand for the fun. Several large activations took center stage throughout the day and evening, such as the Liquid Death Thirst Hearst, the RipNDip Ice Cream Truck, the Jones Soda Schoolbus, and the 710 Labs Interrogation Room. The latter offered a tournament where the winner received a year’s supply of free weed!
West Coast Cure's Activation Awed At Puffcon
One booth that stood out was the huge West Coast Cure (WCC) activation, one of California’s most trusted brands in cannabis. It was hard to miss their makeshift house, that for the company’s CEO Jerett Wasserman is reminiscent of his parents’ house where he started creating his own concentrates in the first place.
Jerett states, “People do photo ops, but I wanted to do something really, really cool and special to me. Show people a piece of history about West Coast Cure. Back in the day, it was mad illegal and you couldn't show this stuff. I used to really want to show this stuff, but I couldn't. It was 10 plus years ago. What I did was I took my dad's house that I grew up in — how Steve Jobs had his garage, my dad's house was my garage. I turned his house into a weed lab.”
The idea was sparked when Jerett was actually at a previous Puffcon, inspired by the block party concept as a whole. Fans of the brand were able to meet the team, play fake "beer pong", and even purchase merchandise out of the trunk of a vintage car posted in front of the house. And while many may know WCC to have the best flower, they actually started out as a hash company to begin with.
Behind the house was Jerett’s real life oven that he started making hash in, the first piece of equipment he ever owned. A true full circle moment as WCC continues to prove what it means to have success in the cannabis industry.
What Is The Puffco Team Saying About Puffcon?
Kevin Chapman, Puffco’s Director of Events, states, “We are so excited to bring this amazing community together again for our third annual Puffcon. This year was bigger and better with our vendors pulling out all the stops, the live glass blowing and the music artists who also share our love of the plant.”
All in all, Puffcon was a huge success. And if you didn’t dab beforehand, you certainly were open to it now!
