The hemp industry proves that, even in a world plagued by pandemics and racial injustice, human and planetary healing can and will triumph. NoCo Hemp Expo, the world’s largest industrial hemp conference, is back for the Experience Hemp Summer Solstice Virtual Conference, which kicked off today and goes through June 19 (free to attend). In tandem with the festivities, Honeysuckle has partnered with NoCo to power the 4th edition of the Let’s Talk Hemp digital magazine.
Featuring testimony from industry experts across diverse disciplines, the Summer Solstice issue dives into the pressing questions of the day. What is the future of hemp in a post-COVID world? What does Black representation in hemp look like, and how can we create opportunities for social equity? How can we take the next steps toward a regenerative society and integrative medicine? The answers may surprise you – read the digital magazine online now!
David Bronner, CEO of Dr. Bronner’s Magical Soaps (that CEO stands for “Cosmic Energy Officer, by the way), opens up about his family’s All-One philosophy. The company is a major force for advancing psychedelic research, fair labor policies and spiritual togetherness. Meanwhile, entrepreneurs speak out about being Black in the hemp industry and the obstacles facing business owners of color. Tanganyika, CEO of Jayn Green and Chairwoman of the Georgia Cannabis Coalition; C.K. Dunson, founder of The Garden District and Bouqe (a hemp rolling paper brand); and Ewket Assefa, founder of Elevated Naturally, share their insights on “hemping while Black.” Plus the Honeysuckle team goes inside the pro-slavery legacy of the Constitution, which formed the basis for systemic racism as we know it today, and a proposal for a 28th Amendment to restore justice.
Christina Sasser, CEO of Vital Leaf, explores the importance of regenerative agriculture. The Nanoshell team gives an inside look at the power and potential of CBD-based nanotechnology. The new “total THC” regulations for legal CBD production are explained by CBD Seed Labs. Hemp historian John Dvorak provides the plant’s millennia of use in stunning imagery, as well as a remembrance of the pivotal 1996 Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam, while veteran cannabis advocate Andrew DeAngelo reminisces about a meeting with “The Hemperor” Jack Herer.
This year’s Summer Solstice is presented by Pure Hemp Technology, and the virtual conference includes speakers such as Codie Sanchez of Entourage Effect Capital; Dani Billings of Nature’s Root, Scheril Murray Powell of Green Sustainable Strong, Doug Fine, “organic cowboy” hemp farmer and bestselling author, Mark Reinders of Hempflax and many more. We stand in complete agreement with NoCo co-founder/producer Morris Beegle, co-founder/executive director Elizzy Knight, and head of operations and finance Lori Buderus in their statement: “There is one race, the human race. There is one planet, Earth. There is one way forward, together.”
Let the healing begin.
