On March 2, New York’s cannabis community came together for a lively Purim celebration as the growing network Jews in Weed hosted a festive gathering at Torches Dispensary in Manhattan. The event brought together nearly 100 guests from across the cannabis industry for an evening that blended Jewish tradition, modern cannabis culture, and community connection.

Purim, one of the most joyful holidays on the Jewish calendar, commemorates the biblical story of Queen Esther and the survival of the Jewish people in ancient Persia. Traditionally marked by costumes, celebration, and generosity, the holiday’s themes of resilience and joy provided a fitting backdrop for a gathering that welcomed both Jewish professionals and allies working throughout the cannabis space.

“Purim is one of the most joyful holidays in the Jewish calendar,” said Jordan Isenstadt, co-founder of Jews in Weed. “At a moment when the world can feel pretty heavy, it felt meaningful to bring people together—Jews, non-Jews, and allies—to celebrate community, culture, and the incredible energy of the cannabis industry.”

Held inside Torches Dispensary, the evening quickly filled with energy as guests arrived in costume and were greeted with custom Purim bracelets that set the tone for a night of playful tradition mixed with cannabis-forward experiences.
Music played a central role throughout the celebration. DJ Jess kept the dance floor active with a nostalgic soundtrack that moved effortlessly between classic Bar Mitzvah staples and old-school hip hop, creating a familiar and festive atmosphere.
Behind the bar, an expert mixologist crafted cocktails featuring AYRLOOM cannabis beverages, offering attendees an infused twist on traditional nightlife drinks. The bar became one of the evening’s focal points as guests sampled drinks while mingling with fellow industry professionals.
The party also featured several interactive cannabis activations, transforming the event into a full experiential gathering rather than simply a social mixer.
Guests could visit a flower bar hosted by PAX, explore a hands-on make-your-own roach clip station presented by Raven’s View, and watch a live joint roller from Kaleidoscope Collective demonstrate the craft of the perfect roll.

Colorful Purim décor throughout the space added to the celebratory energy, reinforcing the theme of joy and tradition while reflecting the creativity often found within cannabis culture.
The event’s Queen Esther sponsor, Sigma Cannabis, showcased its REMZzz Sleep Gummies, produced in a fully kosher kitchen. The brand’s presence highlighted the growing diversity of cannabis products entering regulated markets while reflecting the intersection of Jewish identity and modern cannabis innovation.
For many attendees, the evening represented more than a festive gathering. The Jews in Weed network has steadily evolved into a space where Jewish professionals and allies across the cannabis ecosystem can build relationships, exchange ideas, and support one another in a rapidly changing industry.
Throughout the night, founders, operators, investors, marketers, and advocates could be seen connecting with newcomers curious about the growing community.
As the cannabis industry continues to mature, events like the Jews in Weed Purim celebration demonstrate how culture and identity can play a powerful role in shaping professional networks.
Inside Torches that night, the combination of tradition, cannabis, and community created an atmosphere that was both meaningful and memorable—and a strong sign that the Jews in Weed community is only beginning to grow.
