DORTMUND, Germany — With just three months remaining until the global tobacco and nicotine industry gathers in Germany, organizers of InterTabac 2026 have released the first details of this year's conference program, offering an early look at the regulatory, business, and market discussions expected to shape the sector's future.
Taking place September 15–17 in Dortmund, InterTabac returns alongside InterSupply and NUBIZ, bringing together approximately 800 exhibitors across eleven exhibition halls. The combined events remain one of the largest international meeting points for tobacco, nicotine, vaping, and next-generation product businesses, drawing manufacturers, retailers, suppliers, policymakers, and industry leaders from around the world.
This year's conference agenda reflects the increasingly complex landscape facing the industry, with sessions focused on regulation, harm reduction, sustainability, consumer behavior, and emerging product categories.
Among the first confirmed speakers is Pablo Cano Trilla, Director of Legal Research and Analysis at Tamarind Intelligence, who will open the conference with a keynote examining evolving regulatory frameworks affecting both traditional tobacco products and newer nicotine alternatives. His presentation is expected to provide attendees with insights into regulatory developments across major markets and their potential impact on future business operations.
Regulation remains a central theme throughout the program. On September 15, Paul Varakas, Director General of the European Cigar Manufacturers Association (ECMA), and Joshua Habursky, CEO of the Premium Cigar Association (PCA), will discuss increasing regulatory pressure facing premium cigar manufacturers and retailers in both the European Union and the United States.
The following day, Dan Cotter, Vice President of Finance & Operations for the Cigar Association of America (CAA) and the Pipe Tobacco Council, will present a data-focused analysis of the U.S. cigar market, offering manufacturers, importers, and retailers a closer look at developing market trends and business opportunities.
Also scheduled for September 16 is a presentation from Raphael Moreau, Senior Research Consultant at Euromonitor, who will examine broader shifts in consumer behavior, innovation, and regulation influencing the global nicotine and tobacco sectors.
One of the more anticipated discussions comes from the Global Institute for Novel Nicotine (GINN), which will host two business-focused sessions centered on long-term market access and industry strategy.
The panel discussion, titled "We're Right but We're Losing – How the Nicotine Sector Wastes Its Own Advantage," will explore what many experts view as one of the industry's biggest challenges: translating scientific evidence supporting harm reduction into effective regulatory and commercial outcomes. Participants will examine whether companies are investing enough in research, compliance infrastructure, market surveillance, and regulatory engagement compared to traditional brand-building efforts.
A second GINN session, "Making Evidence Travel: A Three-Region Blueprint for Market Access," will focus on practical approaches to developing evidence strategies that can satisfy regulatory requirements across the United States, Europe, and emerging Latin American markets.
Beyond the conference rooms, attendees will gain access to a broad international exhibition floor showcasing innovations across tobacco products, cigars, e-cigarettes, heated tobacco, oral nicotine products, manufacturing technologies, packaging solutions, and supply chain services.
The event's three-part structure reflects the evolving nature of the industry. While InterTabac continues to serve as the flagship exhibition for tobacco products and smoking accessories, InterSupply focuses on manufacturing and production technologies, and NUBIZ highlights the rapidly expanding category of smoke-free alternatives, heated tobacco products, vaping technologies, and oral nicotine formats.
Organizers say the combination of exhibition space, educational programming, and international networking opportunities positions Dortmund as a key destination for businesses seeking to navigate shifting regulations, emerging consumer preferences, and increasingly competitive global markets.
Trade show tickets for InterTabac, InterSupply, and NUBIZ are currently available through the event's online registration platform.
As regulatory scrutiny and product innovation continue to reshape the global nicotine landscape, InterTabac 2026 aims to provide industry stakeholders with the information, connections, and strategic insights needed to prepare for the next phase of market evolution.
