The premiere of Cloud 9 Studios’ latest experience: The CannaLuxe Wellness Expo happened on Juneteenth at The Foundry–a 19th century industrial-styled building located in Long Island City, New York.
As soon as you entered the venue, you could feel luxury in the air: this expo is like no other. The CannaLuxe Wellness Expo aims to provide an alternative healing experience and a safe space that will inspire guests to create conscious consumption habits through an assortment of alternative luxury brands and services, on-site amenities like spa treatments and massages, interactive Masterclasses, fine dining and more.
A great showcase of primarily BIPOC-owned brands, the event was presented in collaboration with Beso Wellness, Firehouse Wellness (Firehouse Harlem), Infin8ly Elevated, Natural High Co, LittleJohn New York, and The MaryBrands.
Who and What Were Featured At The CannaLuxe Wellness Expo?
On the first floor, there were brands and services ranging from artisan chocolates from Mary Bud Chocolates, CBD-Infused plant-based pleasure oil from Personal Fav Co to luxurious genuine leather stash bags made by LittleJohn New York.
The building stayed illuminated by the sun bursting through the open courtyard doors and sky light. Through those doors was the courtyard where you were able to puff your stuff, take a moment to soak up the ambiance of this magnificent venue and gaze upon the views of the Manhattan skyline featuring a few helicopters.
Outside, you were able to shop more brands like Sweet Mary Brown and their one-of-a-kind rolling trays featuring art from up and coming Black and Brown artists. If you wandered far enough, you could receive a spa experience by ZaZa Spa and massages by A Friend in Knead. And if you were lucky enough, you could catch a glimpse of the setup for the gourmet dinner after the expo hosted by Natural Hight Co.
Up the spiral stairs was the second level of the venue, an indoor balcony, where you’d find even more brands like Popped NYC, oHHo, Love You More Seamoss, home of fruit terpene-infused sea moss, Hustle + Flo with their intention-based blends, and Amy Chin of Calm Better Days talking up CBD products from brands she highly recommends.
Also on the second floor featured a foliage adorned outdoor space where the masterclasses took place. I attended two of the five Masterclasses: Camila Garcia led a Meditation 101 masterclass that left attendees in a serene state equipped with tips and tricks to continue using. Amy Chin led an intro to CBD masterclass, where she educated attendees on what exactly she does as a licensed CBD and Cannabis Coach, what CBD is, how it benefits the body, and how different products can be used with the right intention.
The event also included talks from special guests, such as filmmaker and hip hop legend Fab 5 Freddy, who discussed social equity in cannabis and his brand B Noble, which works to support Black entrepreneurs in the space. Numerous cannabis industry notables filled The Foundry, among them Tanya Osborne of The CannaDiva, Leo Bridgewater of Heart Community Capital, Sephida Artis-Mills of The United Empowerment Party, and Solonje Burnett of Weed Auntie.
A Playground For Adults: Self-Care And Wellness Are Highlighted With Cloud 9 Studios's CannaLuxe Wellness Expo
“This event is a playground for adults to explore a menu of resources that enhance their physical, mental, and spatial well-being,” said Vanessa Oliver, Cloud 9 Studios’ CEO.
The CannaLuxe Wellness Expo was an experience that stimulated guests to create conscious consumption practices that are effective. The safe space curated by Cloud 9, the assortment of cannabis-based brands, and self-care services allowed for everyone from the canna-connoisseur to the canna-curious an event with a vibe like no other.
The curation of locally sourced brands and services for their marketplace embodied the intention of Cloud 9 Studios and allowed consumers to shop and indulge confidently. The selected Masterclass instructors were exceptional at relaying their knowledge and experience and left attendees with information to apply in their own everyday life. The “luxe” in CannaLuxe is what will continue to bring guests back. There is no other event like this expo, the focus and delivery of luxury and cannabis marries both and creates a niche that Cloud 9 fulfills.
From the New York premiere, it’s a guarantee that their Las Vegas event this autumn will be just as marvelous.
