How Do You Incorporate CBD Or Hemp Into Your Beauty Rituals?

In a growing market of options, you want to incorporate CBD or Hemp into your beauty rituals. These two particular ingredients, both from our favorite bestie cannabis sativa, are kind of the same but not. Created from different components of the plant, these can be great choices for different benefits. Let’s discuss the differences to better guide you through your product journey.

What Are The Differences Between Hemp And CBD?

Hemp Seed Oil or Hemp Oil is extracted from the seeds of cannabis sativa and can contain trace amounts of CBD.

CBD, aka cannabidiol, Oil is made from the flowers, leaves, and stalks of cannabis sativa. Rich in cannabinoids, it contains less than 1 percent THC.

Both can be found as healing ingredients in beauty products, but CBD Oil is geared more towards relief, while Hemp Oil leans into rejuvenating properties.

What Are The Benefits Of Hemp And CBD In Beauty Products?

Hemp Oil

Hydration. Hemp oil is non-comedogenic, making it suitable for all skin types. Skin softening, AKA more supple complexion. Improves skin elasticity. Strengthens nails. Boosts hair growth and helps as a restorative treatment for hair loss.

Speaking from personal and professional experience, hair loss has had a huge impact on a wide range of hair and hair textures. Through stress, lifestyles and health complications along with side effects of Covid-19, there are not many options for hair loss that don’t come with a cost of unwanted chemicals. Hemp oil can help.

An article in the International Journal of Trichology, part of the National Library of Medicine, referred to “A 2021 case study of CBD-rich hemp extract [that] revealed 93.5% average increase in hair regrowth. Hemp extract works through the endocannabinoid system (ECS) in the body and has novel effects on hair follicle elongation and hair matrix keratinocytes activated through ECS receptors in the hair follicle cells.” To break it down, all cases were “happy” or “very happy” with the results.

CBD Oil

Analgesic effects, AKA pain relief! Relieves muscle aches and joint pain. Soothes migraines and headaches. Anti-Inflammatory effects.

Inflammation is a constant struggle for many reasons. The stress inflammation can put on the body due to changes or medical diagnosis can be debilitating. Inflammation equates to pain, acute or chronic, AKA short or long term. What studies are showing is that “CBD is one of the main pharmacologically active phytocannabinoids. It is non-psychoactive, but has many beneficial pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. In addition, it belongs to a group of compounds with anxiolytic, antidepressant, antipsychotic, and anticonvulsant properties, among others,” based on case studies documented by the Antioxidants (Basel) journal, part of the National Library of Medicine. What this means is that CBD oil is helping improve the lives of others that want a more holistic approach to acute or chronic pain caused by inflammation.

What Else Should You Know About CBD And Hemp For Beauty Products?

The market for both CBD and/or Hemp use in everyday lives are needed, as options for some of us, due to allergies, accessibility, price and costs make relief limited. The stigmas behind cannabis sativa is something that needs to be explored for the benefit of our society vs continuing to demonize it.

Both options come in all forms of applicational methods that best fit your preferences. Pro Tip: follow the manufacturer's instructions as this is the product at its best.
