It’s official! Piggybacking off their success in New York, Astor Club has opened its doors in Los Angeles.
What Is The Astor Club?
Deemed “The Highest Club In High Society,” Astor Club brings new heights to the traditional cannabis consumption lounge. If you’ve had the pleasure of visiting the brand’s members-only club in New York, you’d immediately fall in love with the California venue’s layout. Not only is the lounge chic and artsy, but it’s also the fact that they’ve made it their mission to create a safe space for cannabis consumers to conjoin, spark up, and engage in meaningful conversation.
What Happened At Astor Club Los Angeles' Grand Opening?
And with Astor Club’s roots on the East Coast, it was only right they brought the same vibes to Los Angeles. This time, Astor Club takes over a three-story space, right in the heart of the city of Angels.
Honeysuckle has covered a series of exclusive events that took place here already, including Puffco’s Holiday Toy Drive and interviewing the founder of Storz & Bickel. The beauty now lies in the fact that Astor Club is going public… which means even more poppin’ events in the city!
On Saturday, January 13th, Astor Club hosted their exclusive, invite-only grand opening. Upon walking in, you’re welcomed with a retail shop on the first floor, the flower bar, dab bar, and actual bar on the second floor, and a beautiful rooftop on the third floor. Once you got to the second level, you quickly realized this wasn’t a regular event. This is the mark of something big, and we’re excited to witness it happen in real time.
First off, if you’re a dabber, you were welcomed with Puffco’s Peak Pro and hash from Archive Portland. If you wanted flower, there were people hand rolling blunts and joints, with flower from Archive Portland. If you wanted a drink, the bar menu featured cocktails named OG Fashion, Candy Small Daiquiri, and Mulez. Upstairs on the third floor was Jones Soda - medicated sodas, if that was more your vibe.
Rihanna: Astor Club's Newest Fan
Amid the Los Angeles launch, music superstar Rihanna was seen in an Astor Club hat. You might call it a literal case of "Love On The Brain."
Astor Club's Special Guest: Hip Hop Legend The Alchemist
With this being Astor Club’s long-awaited, highly-anticipated launch in the mecca of entertainment… that means big names will be in the building! On the launch event flyer itself, it said “music by The Alchemist,” one of the most legendary producers in the realm of Hip Hop. In the scene since he was a teenager, Alchemist was first a part of the hip hop duo Whooliganz with actor Scott Caan during the early 1990s; they were soon discovered by Cypress Hill’s B-Real, who invited them to join his project Soul Assassins. As he grew up, Alchemist was mentored by DJ Muggs in production mixing. Over his decades in music, he has produced and collaborated acclaimed projects with Mobb Deep, Curren$y, Evidence, and many other artists, as well as composing the universally beloved score for hit video game Grand Theft Auto V. The Alchemist’s latest album, Voir Dire with Earl Sweatshirt, was released in Summer 2023.
Once he hopped on the turntables, it immediately felt like we were in New York City. Alchemist set the vibe by playing best cuts from the OGs in rap, many who were present that evening. This reminded folks that Hip Hop is universal, despite it being birthed across the other side of the country.
Which Celebrities Appeared At Astor Club Los Angeles' Grand Opening? Wale, Zombie Juice, 40 And More
Astor Club’s co-owner was running around attending to his overwhelming number of guests, even reeling in big names such as Wale, Zombie Juice from Flatbush Zombies, Trinidad James, Fredro Starr, and many more. He even had Grammy-winning producer 40 from OVO fly in from Canada to DJ!
Congratulations Astor Club on opening to the public in Los Angeles!
