Honeysuckle spoke with Ken Loricchio, Co-founder of Super Speciosa, about his journey and the benefits of kratom.
Where are you from & what's your background?
I come from a background in accounting, data analytics and finance, and developed an understanding of risk & compliance early in my education and training. My journey into the natural wellness industry began when I personally discovered the benefits of kratom and realized how difficult it was to find high-quality, trustworthy products. That’s when my co-founder, Aaron Circhansky, and I saw an opportunity to bring real integrity to an unregulated space. We started Super Speciosa in 2016 with the goal of providing “kratom with a conscience”—a brand built on quality, safety, and transparency.
When did you first get the idea for Super Speciosa & what was the reality in launching?
Aaron and I were both working corporate jobs—he as an engineer and me in finance—but we felt unfulfilled. When we learned about kratom and saw the lack of quality control in the industry, we knew we could do better. We started small, with Aaron designing production processes from scratch and me handling the business side of things. The early days were a grind—we were learning the industry while building a company from the ground up—but we stayed committed to our vision. Over time, our focus on rigorous lab testing, GMP compliance, and transparency helped us stand out, and Super Speciosa has grown into one of the most trusted names in kratom today.
What's something about kratom we may not know?
There’s a lot of misinformation about kratom, especially regarding its safety.
