What Is The Mission Of Philip Wolf's Praying With Plants Podcast?

The entrepreneur and producer describes the mission statement of his podcast: "Praying With Plants is a devotional and vulnerable journey where we explore the intricate dance of living in the right relation with Earth, God, and humanity. In the tapestry of our culture, we peel back layers, connecting to the divine through nature's whispers. Picture an altar adorned with green companions—what if plants joined our prayer? In this space, we bravely navigate the complexities of societal norms, questioning our relationships with visions, self, spirit, work and planet. Pondering the harmony between law, recent news, the arts, and the healing powers of plant medicines.”

Wolf has been featured on CBS and NBC Nightly News, as well as in TIME, Forbes, The New York Times, and many other mainstream publications.

Philip Wolf's Praying With Plants-Inspired Weedsday Playlist

For his Weedsday Playlist, Philip Wolf selected an array of tunes that bring humanity closer to nature and allow us to connect to our higher selves.

Ajeet - "Kiss The Earth"

If cannabis were to sing a lullaby to humans, this would be it. Filled with instructions on connecting while high - how to merge with your body, spirit, and the earth while moving slowly and softly. La Luna anchoring the chords symbolizes the feminine energetics (not gender) of cannabis while the melodic-folk tune deepens you with the plants. Take a hit, close your eyes, and feel the resonance of the words vibrate through your cells.

Tupac - "Can't C Me"

Many people working in the cannabis space are advocates at our core. We believe in the change this plant can make while understanding the challenges we have as it’s still illegal (please caution buying into the rescheduling of cannabis - it needs to be de-scheduled). The most obvious ones being the negative impact the industry has on the environment and that people are still in jail while I make money off of this plant (God bless, I pray I always use my privilege to make a better world). To me, there’s no better artist to hype you up to want to go fight the good fight as an advocate. Feeling Pac's raw emotions gets me going and I can’t tell you how many times I went to speak to Chiefs of Police and government officials in the early cannabis days when I was bumping this on the way up.

*Editor's Note: Did you know? Media icon and cannabis advocate Montel Williams chose Tupac's "Thugz Mansion" for his Weedsday Playlist. Check out his full list here.

Yaima - "Encender"

The opening of this song touches an inspirational chord in my body - If you’re working on an art or creative writing piece while communing with cannabis, this song will make your heart dance in an upbeat but subtle way, bringing into form your art from the body and not the mind. Set your space, press play, take a hit, and get lost in your musings.

Carioca Chandra Edgar - "Nas Alturas"

This song connects me to my highest self. I found it when I was homeless, living out of my car traveling the U.S., producing cannabis events and connecting with the industry as I built the CashoM body of work. Every time I played the song it reminded me that we are here for a higher purpose, to steward this earth and all life within it. My soul not only sings to the heavens, but my body seems to feel merged with the heavens.

Bloomurian Featuring Nyrus - "Bending Perception"

There’s a phenomenon that happens when you're high called hyperprimming, which refers to a psychological phenomenon in which exposure to a stimulus influences the response to a subsequent stimulus with greater distance. This song, to me, promotes imagination when using cannabis and Bloomurian’s beats often get my mind connecting thoughts of great span while putting me in the clouds as I deepen my connection to the soil.
