Weedsday Playlist: Comedian Jon Gabrus Shares 5 Songs For Your Next PAX Era Vape Sesh
PAX, a leading global cannabis brand, recently announced a new product collaboration with multihyphenate entertainer Jon Gabrus, celebrating his favorite things to do while high. Together, with artist Matt Braun, the team collaborated on four limited edition designs featuring the words High & Mighty, the name of Gabrus’ popular podcast that spans a diverse range of topics and themes from cannabis to music to the great outdoors, and so much more.
These exclusive designs include some of Gabrus's favorite pairings for the PAX Era and the brand's lineup of pure, full-flavor cannabis pods. Intended to be visually simple, fun, and highly relatable, these designs bring a spirit of humor and levity to cannabis consumption as a lifestyle. While one side spotlights High & Mighty, the other side includes a series of custom graphics, each representing one of Gabrus’ preferred activities while consuming cannabis.
Who Is Jon Gabrus, Host Of The High & Mighty Podcast?
Jon Gabrus is an actor, comedian, podcast host, cultural commentator, and cannabis enthusiast. A longtime performer at New York's Upright Citizens Brigade, he became known through various comedic mediums, including the popular series Comedy Bang! Bang! and the YouTube channel CollegeHumor. In 2016, Gabrus created High & Mighty, a wildly successful podcast that explores the "stupid stuff that a nerd/meathead/manchild would be into," as the host puts it - but in reality, the forum has been an incredible force to bring cannabis advocacy into mainstream culture. (Audiences may also recognize him from TVLand's Younger, FX's What We Do In The Shadows, or the truTV travel series 101 Places To Party Before You Die.)
“High & Mighty is the name of my podcast, but it’s also a pretty solid life mantra for me," Gabrus said. "I am a big strong stoner, who has a lot of opinions that I can get rather 'High and Mighty' about. So that’s how I want you to feel after you rip from my custom PAX Era. I also included some imagery of my favorite cannabis pairings—all things that go very well with a nice pull from the Era.”
Jon Gabrus x PAX Collab On High & Mighty Devices
“It’s a dream to be launching these limited edition designs with Jon," added Lauryn Livengood, Senior Director of Brand Marketing at PAX. "He’s been an advocate for the PAX brand, long before we started working together, which has given us the opportunity to come together authentically and create something that celebrates cannabis in a really fun and fresh way. Jon brings such a great energy and enthusiasm to the space. His interests and projects are broad, and he’s made a huge impact on the normalization of cannabis through both humor and genuine enjoyment of the plant — the epitome of what it means to be a PAX consumer.”
Devices are available in Ultra Pink, Ultra Green, Ultra Blue and Black, starting at $35 MSRP, and can be purchased on pax.com and at selected dispensaries throughout the Southern California region.
Jon Gabrus's "Stay In The Cyph" Weedsday Playlist
For his Weedsday Playlist, Gabrus selected songs that reflected a range of moods, but all had a great "essential stoner" vibe.
“I could spend all day trying to put together a playlist for a friend to listen to while they vape one," Gabrus stated. "Since I am making this playlist for myself, and only need five tracks, the difficulty comes in narrowing it down. So I am just gonna go with five classics, the kind of tracks that make you go ‘OH SHIT’ when they come on. These are the songs that make you stay in the cyph for one more round.”
Juicy J Featuring Wiz Khalifa - "Smoke A N***a"
I know I can’t even say the name of the song out loud, but I fucking love this track so much. I know this song is a little on the nose for a smoke sesh song, but damn these lyrics. I can’t listen to this song when I’m on a tolerance break, because I will find myself instinctively rolling up something. It’s guaranteed to be a good time when Juicy J is rapping about trees.

Glass Candy - "Digital Versicolor"
This song is a mood setter, if you’re in the mood to take a speedboat to a drug bust while wearing fingerless gloves. I love the vibe that this song sets, and makes me feel like I’m starring in my own movie. Except my movie is the story of a 40-year-old fat guy smoking a blunt on his couch.

Dr. Octagon (Kool Keith) - "Blue Flowers"
Would a stoner music list be complete if it didn’t contain a FUNNY song? Who better to make you laugh with off-the-wall lyrics than Kool Keith as Dr Octagon? It’s trippy, funny, and the Doctor’s voice is just what the doctor ordered. If you have any issues with this, please call 1800-PP-5-1-Doo Doo.

Genesis - "Invisible Touch"
I don’t know if there is anything that puts me in a better mood than this song…actually I just realized it's cannabis. So with the combined power of both cannabis AND Genesis, good luck trying NOT to bop your head, good luck NOT feeling the groove, good luck NOT sparking another J if the track outlasts your blaze.

Billy Joel - "The Downeaster Alexa"
I’m from Long Island, so I would never be allowed back if I didn't put one Billy song on my playlist. So why not choose one of the more epic tracks off of Stormfront? This song gets me pumped to get on a boat, to get back to the island, and to spark another blunt. For extra nostalgia, I recommend taking a few hits from a bowl in an above-ground pool and start screaming along ‘AY AY OOOOOOO’ at the top of your lungs.
