What Is ADAX Entertainment And The Devil Doc Talk Show? Platforms Elevating Veterans

A passionate cannabis and alternative medicines advocate, Joey has been involved in the movement since 2011. He launched ADAX Entertainment over 12 years ago, as a media production company aimed at amplifying the voices of veterans and addressing critical social issues. His signature program, The Devil Doc Talk Show, is a platform dedicated to discussing the challenges faced by veterans and the importance of mental health awareness. Each episode features guests, including fellow veterans, mental health professionals, and advocates, discussing topics such as PTSD, transitioning to civilian life, and the significance of community involvement.

About the show, Joey states, “Our motto is to ‘Entertain and Empower.’ We employ entertainment as a means to keep serious subjects light. This allows us to vent, discuss, rationalize, and move forward as a community. It's fun, it's funny; with this show we can laugh at ourselves and breathe for a moment [and] take on the issues often overlooked in everyday media. Everyone involved with the show is dedicated to helping all veterans out there.”

How Did Joey Martinez Become "The Devil Doc"?

Born in Stockton, California and raised in Lemoore, California (his hometown), Joey developed a profound respect for the military from a young age. Inspired by stories of bravery and sacrifice, and eager to contribute to something greater than himself, he enlisted in the United States Navy. There, he underwent rigorous training to become a Corpsman. His compassion and dedication earned him the endearing nickname "Devil Doc" as he provided medical care to Marines and Sailors in various challenging environments.

In February 2006, Joey was deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, serving with the 2nd MLG, FRSS and STP unit in Al Qaim until September of that year. The harsh realities of war became apparent as he faced the daunting task of providing medical assistance amid chaos. During his deployment, he witnessed unimaginable sights, including mass casualties involving both service members and civilians. The weight of these experiences took a toll on him, leaving him grappling with feelings of helplessness and guilt that would haunt him long after his return home.

Following his medical transfer in 2011, Joey faced a different battle – one against the invisible wounds of war. He was diagnosed with severe chronic PTSD and major depression, struggling with debilitating symptoms that affected every aspect of his life. The traumatic memories replayed relentlessly, triggering panic attacks and overwhelming feelings of inadequacy.
