Smoke Signals: Plusmacher Bridges Hip Hop and Heritage in Europe’s Green Wave

With a love for cannabis, you're a citizen of the world. No one understands this better than Remy Haedecke, better known as Plusmacher, the German rapper who’s been putting plant-first energy into everything he touches. From his early collaborations with Berner—including the 2019 “Weedkingz” hit with King Keil—to building a lifestyle empire with his company FarmBros, Plusmacher is part of the global wave pushing cannabis culture to the forefront.

Now, with Germany’s cannabis reforms igniting international excitement, FarmBros and Cookies have more in common than ever. But what makes the German scene distinct? And how did this rapper-turned-entrepreneur bloom into one of Europe’s most recognizable voices in both music and ganja? In this exclusive interview with Honeysuckle, Plusmacher opens up about hip hop, hustle, and the high-grade future of German flower.

"Music, Mindset, and Madlib": Plusmacher’s Roots in Rap"My musical influence started early," Plusmacher recalls. "At 16, I worked in a hip-hop streetwear store, and my bosses were deep into the culture. They exposed me to everything—Stones Throw, Madlib, MF Doom, Mobb Deep. It all shaped me. And my producer The Breed has that West Coast international sound; he’s worked with Anderson .Paak and many others. That vibe’s in our DNA."

It’s this global flavor that helped Plusmacher stand out in Germany and beyond. But while American rap has long been mainstream, he says German hip hop still has to fight for its place. "There are still challenges on social media everywhere, but with partial legalization here, we’re making progress."

Weed, Words, and Real Life

Plusmacher’s lyrics reflect his reality: "I mostly rap about weed and everything around it. My whole life revolves around this plant—it’s helped me rise from the bottom and given me a voice. It fills my fridge, fuels my family, and pushes me forward."

He’s not glorifying blind consumption, though. "I smoked my first joint at 14, which was early, and I wouldn't suggest that for kids. But for me, it gave me a path, a mindset. Since 2017, I’ve had a medical card. I’m a recreational user, but I manage my business, go to the gym, and raise two healthy kids with my wife. I’m still hustling 24/7."

From Berner to Berlin: Cross-Atlantic Vibes

One of Plusmacher’s major career moments came with his collaboration with Berner, the Cookies founder who’s become an icon in global cannabis circles. "Berner and his brand are a role model for us in Germany. That song came together through another German artist who had American connections. It was a big honor."

Their connection reflects a growing bridge between the German and American cannabis scenes—and Plusmacher isn’t stopping there. "I’ve got contacts in the U.S. and even a few ties to Tyson. I could definitely see myself doing more collabs and even performing in the States."

FarmBros: A Lifestyle Brand, Not Just a Business

"FarmBros was created to elevate cannabis culture in Germany. We're not just a shop, grow supply, or dispensary—we’re a lifestyle. We represent color, creativity, and quality, made in Germany."

Though German law still limits full flower sales, FarmBros is setting the stage. "Right now, we have an online grow shop and we’re exploring social clubs. Once the government gives us the green light, we’re ready with distribution points, shops, seeds, genetics, and more."

The German Difference: Kush and Culture

Asked about German vs. American weed, Plusmacher smiles. "The U.S. has had legalization for years, but don’t get it twisted—Berlin has everything. I don’t need to fly to L.A. to get good strains. We have top growers here too."

And when it comes to his personal preference? "Kush is my favorite. Kush number one. I smoke joints, mainly joints. Every day. That’s my vibe."

What’s Next for Germany?

"I hope we reach full legalization like in America, where we can work freely and leave crime out of it. FarmBros is already the biggest new thing in Europe. If you're in Berlin or visiting, check out our shop and our pages. Quality made in Germany."

Plusmacher is already building the future he wants to see—and inviting the world to join him. "Thank you for the interview. Sending greetings from Berlin to America!"
