Dr. Steinberg is widely recognized as a pioneering figure in global cannabis regulation. She is the first person to earn a Ph.D. in regulated cannabis law from the University of Oxford, where her ethnographic research spanned eleven countries and illuminated approaches to market design and reform. Since 2018, she has consulted for investors, governments, and both public and private entities, and has represented stakeholders at the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs and the World Health Organization.
Her work has garnered industry recognition: In 2025, she was shortlisted as an “Industry Rising Star” by the Cannabis Business Awards for her contributions to Europe’s evolving cannabis sector.
