“Growing is a lifestyle,” says educator and master cannabis cultivator DC Scroger. Honeysuckle caught up with the sought-after horticulturalist at the Second Annual Landmark Festival. Curated by Kate Storch, Landmark is an event highlighting New York’s iconic hip hop landmarks, in the sense of both locations and pivotal moments. While the festivities included incredible visual arts and music presentations from Large Professor, Evil Dee, DJ Eclipse, Joe Conzo, Danny Cortes, Peter Paid, and more, curious minds gravitated toward Scroger’s cultivation project 1000 Clones For 1000 Homes.

What Is DC Scroger's Cannabis Cultivation Project 1000 Clones For 1000 Homes?

The objective, as Scroger describes, is exactly what it says on the tin. “I teach people how to fish,” he explains. “[I won’t] just give you the clone… By the time [everyone’s] finished with the event, they’ll know what to do with it.”

By giving out 1000 cannabis clones free to attendees, the teacher can share his most effective methods for people to understand the plant on the most nano levels. Not only does Scroger grow everything in living soil, with attention to simplicity and bonding with nature, but he also emphasizes the end result of cultivating full-bodied flower.

Why Does DC Scroger Emphasize Terpenes And Flavonoids In Cannabis Cultivation?

“It’s about terpenes and flavonoids,” he asserts. “Taste and flavor are a direct correlation of feeling and emotion. The terpenes and flavonoids are the highway on which the cannabinoids travel to your CB1 receptor in your brain, to your endocannabinoid system.”
