Dennis Walker's Nostalgia Trip: A Psychedelic-Inspired Weedsday Playlist
To create his Weedsday Playlist, Walker dug up his memories from playing in a band and his earliest years of communing with psychedelics: “This playlist is inspired by lived experience collaborating with some of the artists on it, as well as by a handful of mainstays that have been with me for years. Psychedelics and playing in a band were a huge part of my college experience, and opened the door to some profound and lasting experiences and relationships across the worldwide artistic community. I listen to music that elevates my own creative output, and that brings me to a place of personal authenticity.”
The Genie Featuring Killah Priest, M1, and Zumbi - "Reconnect"
The Genie is an avant-garde pioneer of a style called “scratch guitar”. He's opened for acts like Shabazz Palaces and Kamasi Washington, and even performed at my wedding. This song is a great showcase of what his craft is all about, and features Killah Priest, M1, and Zumbi.

Bjork - "Arisen My Senses"
Bjork epitomizes everything that brilliant and bold art is from my perspective. This song has been the kickoff to a few of my recent macrodose mushroom experiences, and I couldn't be more thrilled to have scored tickets to see her in Paris in September of this year.

Deyo - "Digital"
Deyo is the stage name of my longtime friend Chris Braun. I co-starred in the music video for this song alongside Chris, his partner Courtney Spitznagel and his brother Nicholas Braun, who plays Cousin Greg in the HBO show Succession. We shot Digital in bodegas across NYC using their CCTV cameras, and I was cruising on a museum dose of mushrooms for most of the shoot. Every time I put this song on, it brings me back to the joy of this spontaneous group art project and the people who inspire me.

Dead West - "Cow Power"
Dead West is the musical project of my dear friend AJ Raglow, who I met at a train station in Sri Lanka in 2013. We've shared many nights of music and adventure in different places around the globe since then. This song is a wonderful foray into the songwriting chops of this extraordinary and underrated songwriter and musician, and I keep it on my playlists to remind me of the wonderful kindred spirit that I'm lucky to have in my life.

The Smile - "Speech Bubbles"
Saying I'm a Thom Yorke and Radiohead fan is an understatement. This song off of his new musical outfit's debut takes me to places that protect me from the bullshit of the world. Whenever I put on “Speech Bubbles,” my imagination takes flight and allows me a 10,000 foot macroview of the world I live in.
