OG Louie the XIII is exactly what his name states: an OG in the cannabis industry. Here's Why People Love him.

Having been in the game for over two decades, OG Louie has always prided himself on one thing: offering the highest quality cannabis products and blends for your daily high. And if you’ve ever smoked one of his pre-rolled joints with the glass tip… you know the hype is real.

Boasting a dedicated fanbase that only smokes his products, OG Louie is also a fan favorite for celebrities like Snoop Dogg, Ty Dolla $ign, 2 Chainz, DaBaby, Jim Jones, and more.

The philosophy is simple: quality flower should be savored, not rushed. Cannabis is way more than just getting high; it’s a culture and community where like-minded individuals can puff, relax, and enjoy each other’s company. This is the exact environment Louie curates at his studio in downtown Los Angeles, and everyone that’s inside can attest to that.

Beyond the fire tree, OG Louie is a hilarious content creator, who’s made his signature move by throwing pounds of weed out the window. Mind you, he’s on the 8th floor.

Honeysuckle spoke with OG Louie about his love for OG and what we can expect next.

Who is OG Louie the XIII?

It's funny because the OG came from Instagram, because my original account was Louie the XIII. They hacked my account; it was crazy. I had 150K followers, real followers too. Incredible. But they hacked my account. Tried to redo it, tried to redo it, couldn't do it. Even Snoop asked me: “Why didn’t you hit me up?” Who thinks about an Instagram going down and calling Snoop Dogg? Nobody thinks that.

I had to turn around and went through the whole process, couldn't get the name. So I created another Instagram, and that's where the OG came in. We decided to keep it OG because I only smoke OG. We went from there.

How long have you been in the cannabis game?

I've been doing this off and on for about 20 years. I’m the king of OGs. I have the original old school strain, the OG. You’re talking about 15, 20 years ago; I have that. A lot of people don't have that and can't grow it correctly.

Where do you grow?

My stuff is grown in Humboldt County right now. I'm working on a licensing deal, so I'm going to bring my clones down. We're going to do it in a couple of facilities because I'm only trying to do delivery. I don't want to put it in stores.

My favorite product of yours is obviously the glass tip pre-rolls. Is that what everyone loves?

The reason why everybody loves it is because we have 6 joints, individually hand-rolled. All the water leaves and the stems are taken out, so you're smoking pure flower. We do not use small nugs; we use all the big nugs, and it's made with love. So when you smoke, you'll understand where the love comes from.

What other products do you have?

I have an exotic line coming out right now. We're doing all the design work. I'm only picking maybe 3 exotics to do, and they're going to be some of the best exotics in the market. I won't deal with anything less because there are 100 different exotics out there. A lot of them are boo-boo, but I’m going to keep it 100: when I come out, just like my OG, I'm coming out strong.

Is Instagram the main marketing platform for you?

Right now, it is. We just hooked up the whole studio. We're doing livestreaming. We just hooked up TikTok, Kick, and all the different livestreams. We're going to start livestreaming, doing shows out of here. Because I have a lot of celebrities that come there. It's at the point where I don't even videotape anybody anymore because it's like family now. Everybody comes in, visits like “Hey, what's up?” I'm past that point where, “let me get a video shout-out, let me do that.” If you want to do it, cool. If you don't, don't worry about it.

You still got that board of signatures? It must be super filled now.

Yes, I had to take it down because it filled up the whole wall. Some people started writing over other names, and I didn't want that. I also have the backboard — it's a marker chalkboard, whatever you want to call it — where PNB Rock signed it. That’s my dawg, man. But that’s dope, a lot of signatures.

Man, LA is rough.

LA is rough. It's going to get better, though, because all the roughness is putting itself away. LA will shine again.

Are you doing your own delivery service for just your products?

I'm working with a couple of licensed people, so I'm trying to figure out how to do it. But I'm trying to do it a little bit differently. I'm trying to do drone delivery.

What!

Yes. If you go to YouTube, there's a gentleman named Mark Rober. He did drone deliveries called Zipline. We reached out to the company, and we're trying to get one to see if we can start doing drone delivery. The drone doesn't come down to your house; it stays above your house and drops a line with a package straight to you.

I've never heard that!

Oh, I tried to do it 3 years ago on the other side of the market. I tried to do it by Snoop's house in the Hollywood Hills. I hit him up, I said I'm going to send a drone to deliver. He said, “what?” I said “I'll call you back.” But we tried to get it going, and the mountain where he was at had a no-fly zone. So any drone that tried to go there would be sent back. It's called a no-fly zone; certain people in Hollywood can buy that.

That might change the game though.

Oh yeah, definitely. Drone delivery is going to be the best, especially if we have another pandemic.

Are you still throwing weed out the window?

Yeah, I just threw a couple of pounds out the other day. People get mad at me because they say “why don't you tell us?” No, I like to throw it out, watch the bus or the cars run it over. Somebody pulls up, turns around, picks it up, gets in, jumps in the car, and runs. I don't tell my friends, I don't tell anybody. I do it on the whim. I got too many people here. If I tell them I'm going to do it, somebody's going to want to go down there and get it. So I don't do it; I just do it on the whim real quick.

How long have you been doing that?

You know what, I started doing it because somebody brought me some purple weed. And I don't like purple; I only smoke OG. That was the first one. These guys from New York rushed me, but my boys stopped them. I ended up paying for the pound. Anytime I throw your pound out the window because I don't like it, don't worry about it. I’ll pay for it.

What else can we expect from OG Louie?

Oh man, 2025, I'm going to take it up just a little bit more. Not all the way, but a little bit more. Everybody already knows the brand. Everybody knows Louie the XIII, so I don't have to sit here and try to market it too much. I'm going to drop a monthly subscription; you'll be able to get in and get all certain products. I got expensive lighters coming; I got some quality stuff coming. You'll see what the future holds, but I plan on being here for a while.
