How to Plant Cannabis Seeds Indoors

Have you ever thought about growing cannabis on your own? Well, not only is it possible, it’s quite easy. Even if you don’t have a garden, that’s okay. We are here to tell you how to grow your own cannabis indoors. Growing marijuana can be an enjoyable project, and it’s a great way to have your own supply, as long as it’s legal where you live.

Germination

Start by germinating the seeds. Germination is the process in which a new plant begins to grow from seeds. Also called “popping,” germination is the very first step in creating your indoor cannabis green space.

Germinate the seeds by soaking them in water for about 12 hours. The viable seeds will sink to the bottom of the bowl. After soaking them, put the viable seeds on a towel.

Cannabis seeds need to be preserved in warm and consistent temperatures to germinate, but must be kept out of direct sunlight. The top of a refrigerator is a good place for this process, and a heat lamp would be an excellent investment, making it possible to control the temperature. Make sure it’s a constant 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Planting

So you have finally finished the germinating process. Now find some small cannabis holding garden pots and fill them with soil. The soil should be loose and moist to the touch. Fill the little pots up about ¾ of the way.

Now it’s time to drop the seeds into the soil. Use tweezers to lower them down into a small hole; make sure the root is facing down toward the hole and not up toward you. Be careful not to damage the seeds in the process, or all your efforts might be futile. Finally, cover them up with soil and fill the hole.

Care

Controlling the environment that your plants are in is crucial. Do not put them on a windowsill, and, as with the germinating seeds, make sure they are kept out of direct sunlight. It is recommended to put them in a basement, or a closet.

You will need to water them two times a day. Use a spray bottle so that you are not drowning the plants. The soil should be moist, but not soaking wet. Overwatering can cause the plants not to grow. Create a schedule for yourself to help you keep track.

Even though your cannabis seeds don’t need to be in direct sunlight, they do need light. The best lights to use are cool white grow lights — these need to be directly on the plants for 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The lights should be about 2 inches above the pots and no more than 5 watts. These types of lights are easy to find at any hardware store.

Try to avoid touching the plants at first. Touching them could damage them, and you don’t want that. If you follow our tips and take good care of your seeds, they should be poking through the soil within five to ten days.

Conclusion

Growing cannabis seeds can be a great hobby. It’s easy and does not require too much money. Get started growing your marijuana seeds right away. Just make sure to do your research, and soon you will have your marijuana plants in the comfort of your own home.
